1. Choose a date

First and foremost, you need to contemplate the season and how it will affect your celebration. 2. Choose Ceremony & Reception location

There are 12 awe-inspiring locations concerning the Yosemite elopement ceremony and I can happily say that I know all of them inside out because I have shot countless love stories in each of them. As for planning a Yosemite Elopements for 2021 and deciding on the location depends solely on your preferences. For example, do you like the epic view at Glacier Point as your backdrop, or do you wish serene ambiance while listening to the shimmering river as you say your I DOs?

Concerning receptions, due to Covid, not all venues allow weddings, but the ones that do are the Rush Creek Lodge and Tenaya Lodge. Both of them are just stunning and will make sure for you to have your dreams realized effortlessly. As for lodgings for your guests, there are currently 2 hotels open in the valley but there are also Airbnb and private rentals at your disposal.

3. Permits, Restrictions, and Legislation

One of the most important aspects about how to plan an elopement in Yosemite is that there is a people count limit in 2021:

“Due to current health guidelines, gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited. No wedding permits for more than 10 people are being issued”

Also in order to have a Yosemite elopement, you need to have a permit. Don’t worry because I am glad to say that the permit is easily obtainable from their official website!

In the spirit of documentation, you also need to have a California marriage license but have in mind that it is valid only for 30 days, so please plan accordingly. The fastest way you can obtain it along the way is from Mariposa County. It is close to the park so on their website.
